Tatyoon Recreation Reserve
Tatyoon Recreation Reserve, a large 18,000m² oval located in the heart of the town, required a major upgrade to its irrigation and drainage systems to enhance field conditions and water efficiency.
Irrigation Works:
Installation of a new solar submersible pump, drawing from a reservoir
Construction of a new 230kL water tank to ensure adequate water storage capacity
Installation of a variable speed pump with a dedicated pump shed
Electrical system upgrade to support the new irrigation infrastructure
Design and installation of a new irrigation system
Drainage Works:
300m of main drains to efficiently remove excess water from the oval
2,200m of lateral drains to support proper water flow across the field
7,500m of sand slit drainage installed to improve water dispersion and reduce waterlogging
Final surface works to ensure the field is level, well-drained, and ready for use
Topdressing of the sports surface to improve soil quality, turf health, and surface evenness
Application of seed and fertiliser to support turf growth and establish a healthy playing surface
Regular mowing throughout the establishment period to maintain turf health and field quality
